While almost all canines are unable to perspire, there was no shortage of sweat in the helmets of the Muckdogs in their final game this series at Falcon Park. The Doubledays (8-6), however, ended the night by proving that they were indeed hot and the Muckdogs (6-8) are not.
The Doubledays pitching staff- with no need to keep any arms warm in the dugout tonight – rolled past the Muckdogs offense as Auburn ran away with a 4-2 win and back into the cool confines of the home clubhouse.
“Sitting in the dugout, we didn’t get much of a breeze. It was pretty hot in there,” said Doubledays manager Jerad Head. “I’m sure (the heat) does help – getting loose and getting warmed up. Probably doesn’t take as long to warm up, especially for those bullpen guys. Man it was a hot one.”
