The 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit is in the Rochester region for the first time.
It is part of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Siller, a NYFD firefighter, died on September 11, 2001 after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center towers.
The exhibit features artifacts from Ground Zero and lets you hear first-hand accounts from firefighters who were there.
"I think it's very important to pass the message on," said Steve Casquarelli, a retired FDNY firefighter. "To keep it alive, we can't forget something like this. It's part of American history. It is very passionate for me, you know, I was working and I feel it's very important to me here."
"We make a connection here. This is such a special unit," said Pat Clancy, who also retired from FDNY. "I can't believe, Steve and I do the tours in Manhattan, and we came here, it's like, 'Wow.'" I think most of the public does the same thing."
