Romulus man airlifted after motorcycle collides with deer

Deputies say a 34-year-old Romulus man was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center after a motorcycle accident on State Route 414.

The accident happened on Friday around 12:30 am when Cory Matthew, 34, was northbound on Route 414 in Lodi when his motorcycle struck a deer – causing him to be thrown from the bike.

He then slid down the road, according to deputies, who said that he was treated at the scene – then flown by LifeNet to Upstate Medical Center for treatment.

His injuries were described as abrasions and contusions, as well as a possible concussion.

Deputies were assisted by South Seneca Ambulance and the Lodi Fire Department.
