The Geneva Police Department, Ontario County Sheriffs and New York State Police conducted a thorough search of North Street School after a bomb threat was found during dismissal on Friday.
A staff member found a bomb threat written on the stall of the girls’ bathroom near the mini gym. Administrators immediately notified police, who responded with K9 units to search the building.
Dismissal continued without incident and students scheduled to stay for afterschool programming were also bused home or picked up early. The school was placed on lockout and no one was allowed in the building, with the exception of police and authorized personnel.
A full building search was conducted. Nothing suspicious was found. As a precautionary measure, all adult and student bags will be searched Monday morning.
The district is grateful to police for their swift response and assistance and to staff for their cooperation and professionalism.
