FLX FORECAST: Showers, wind & warmer conditions on Thursday – but changes coming

Thursday is going to be the warming day.

Temperatures will push into the mid-50s, allowing for the Finger Lakes to feel more like spring. However, it will be a cool start as the region starts in the low-30s. Temperatures will then stay up over the next two days, but cooler, winter-like weather will be on our doorstep by Saturday.

There will be some showers on Thursday, which will make for a split day. It shouldn’t be a washout though, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will also pick up during the afternoon, with gusts pushing into the 40s.

A cold front is expected to be draped across the region, making for a difficult forecast this weekend. It also means a lot of precipitation could be in the forecast, too. Rain, sleet, and snow are all possible when this transition happens late-Saturday before temperatures rebound for some again on Sunday.

The long-term forecast shows more unseasonable cold next week, though.
