It’s going to be a wild weather ride over the next several days.
While forecasters remain uncertain about the exact temperature trend through the weekend — high temperatures will likely vary wildly even within the Finger Lakes.
For example, on Friday temperatures along the Rochester and Syracuse line could struggle to break 50 degrees. Meanwhile, parts of the Central Finger Lakes and Southern Tier will likely push through the 60s and approach 70 degrees, according to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil.
Steady rain is expected on Thursday before the warm air arrives, but the steadiest of rainfall should end by afternoon. Even as the temperatures soar, though, winds will pickup significantly.
By Sunday though, after two days of up-and-down weather — the region will likely see heavy rainfall. That will likely arrive by evening.
As temperatures soar tomorrow afternoon, the winds will whip up out of the southwest. We may be dealing with gusts of 40 to 45 mph in Rochester while enjoying that 60° air. pic.twitter.com/k4q0JIyrIG

Saturday's "tale of two seasons". Both the GFS & European models show a pronounced north-south temperature gradient over #WNY. Will need to watch for freezing rain potential near Lake Ontario too. #Spring pic.twitter.com/thY1u5Mp2x
