PLANNING FORECAST: Rollercoaster conditions continue for FLX this week

It’s going to be another active weather week, but the biggest changes are going to come from wide-swings in temperature.

Conditions on Monday will be sunny — and temperatures throughout the first half of the week will remain warm. Tuesday and Wednesday will bring rain, and snow for some. Additionally, there will be the risk for windy conditions in parts o the region, too.

FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil says a storm system that will develop quickly across the Plains today will race toward us on Tuesday and Wednesday — bringing the most-active weather of the week those two days.

The first chances for a couple showers will begin around sunrise Tuesday with a better chance for rain in the late morning and afternoon.

Winds will be blustery most of Tuesday, but will really pick up Tuesday night into Wednesday. Widespread wind gusts of 45-55 mph with locally stronger winds will be possible. Winds will initially be from the south but will swing around to the west-southwest as the cold front moves through during the mid and late morning hours, according to Montreuil.

Temperatures will cool in the second half of the week — then drop into the mid-30s by weekend. Snow showers will be possible at that point, but again, nothing is expected to accumulate.

Updates will be posted here as new information becomes available.
