Mac’s Philly Steaks in Lyons gets going

Mac’s Philly Steaks owner Ryan MacNamara didn’t see the need to drop what Burnham’s Canalside in Lyons was doing as a longtime breakfast and lunch joint.

He just added to it.

The new name: Mac’s Philly Steaks Diner, which is in its third full month of operation in the Wayne County community.

The approach in Lyons is different from MacNamara’s other locations, which include his first restaurant, on Main Street in downtown Canandaigua. Those places are just lunch and dinner spots, featuring the signature Philly steak sandwiches and other items that have helped expand Mac’s footprint in the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.

In Lyons, you can find Mac’s staples, but you also can find the breakfast items that made Burnham’s such a popular spot for the morning crowd.

As for the move to Lyons, MacNamara said it came about through a supplier, who told him that former owner Brad Burnham was moving to Texas and selling.
