Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts reports that a 35-year-old Macedon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after an investigation into a suspicious condition.
Virts says a passerby observed Jaime A. Mendez-Mencos slumped over in his vehicle, which was parked at the Valero Gas Station on State Route 350. Police arrived on-scene to find him sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle — with it running.
Deputies say the music was loudly playing and the side door was wide open. There were two opened beer cans in the center console of the vehicle, and upon investigation it was determined that Mendez-Mencos had a BAC of 0.10 percent.
He was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and driving with a BAC of 0.08 percent or more. Virts says appearance tickets were issued for Macedon Town Court.
