A Syracuse man faces up to five years in prison after admitting he threatened to kill U.S. Rep. John Katko and his family in October.
Patrick D. Angelo, 28, pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to interstate communication of a threat, according to the U.S. attorney's office in western New York.
"While citizens are certainly entitled to communicate their views on issues of importance to them to their elected officials, there are and must be bounds to the manner in which such views may be expressed," U.S. Attorney James Kennedy said. "As today's plea makes clear, defendant overstepped those bounds."
