The Cayuga County Department of Social Services is inviting the public to attend an upcoming forum examining its five-year plan for the family services it provides.
Called The Child and Families Services Plan, Deputy Director Christine Bianco said it will include goals for programs like child protective services, preventative service, foster care, adoption, adult services and others. It will cover 2018 through 2023, and has to be submitted to the state by April 1. Before submission, however, the department has to hold a forum and get community input.
"The public forum purpose is to give information to the members of the community, and also get information from them and get feedback from them, hear their ideas, if they have any concerns," Bianco said. "They're also doing this work. They're also experiencing things, so they're a valuable part of this collaboration."
