A central New York progressive organization supports Dana Balter to challenge U.S. Rep. John Katko in the 24th Congressional District race.
Uplift Syracuse, which focuses on education, health care, the environment and other issues, endorsed Balter Monday. The decision followed the group's candidates forum that was held last month in Syracuse.
Zach Zeliff, an executive board member of Uplift Syracuse, said it was clear after the forum that there was support for Balter's congressional campaign.
"Uplift is pleased to endorse a candidate who has shown a commitment to harnessing grassroots power in order to win this seat and pursue an unapologetically progressive platform," Zeliff said.
