Geneva Little League expands, lowers fees for 2018; registration event scheduled for Feb. 3

Registration for Geneva Little League’s 2018 season will open Saturday, Feb. 3 with an in-person signup session from 9 a.m. to noon at the Geneva Community Center. Families can also register their players at genevalittleleague.com.

The 2018 season will bring a number of changes, including lower registration fees, locally sponsored Major League Baseball-themed uniforms, a new and improved website and a revamped opening day raffle for a big-screen TV.

One of the biggest changes is an expanded league boundary, which means players from a much greater geographic area will be eligible to play. In addition to players from Geneva, registration is also open to youths in Phelps, Clifton Springs, Newark, Palmyra and surrounding areas. Players from most of Yates County are also eligible, including Penn Yan, Branchport, Middlesex, Dresden and surrounding areas. Questions about eligibility can be directed to League President Larry Guererri at (585)3305471 or [email protected].

Registration fees and divisions for 2018 are as follows:

Minor B (machine-pitch) baseball for ages 6-8: $50
Minor A baseball for ages 9-10: $75
Major baseball for ages 11-12: $75
Minor softball for ages 9-10: $75
Major softball for ages 11-12: $75.

There is a maximum charge of $150 per family. An age eligibility chart can be found at genevalittleleague.com.

Translation assistance is available for Spanish-speaking families who need help with the registration process. Contact Angel Lopez at (315)719-4252 or [email protected] or Juan Santiago at (786)327-4648 or [email protected].
