Around 11:35 pm on Tuesday, members of the Seneca Falls Fire Department, and other first responders were called to a structure fire at 2273 Lake Road Spur.
The Seneca Falls Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, and Seneca Falls Police Department were dispatched immediately.
Crews arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure. Additional units from the Waterloo, Fayette, and Geneva Fire Department responded to assist in the fire suppression, according to police.
Police say the property was determined to be a vacation rental, which was unoccupied at the time. An aggressive exterior fire attack, with an emphasis on exposure protection was established.
However, it took crews an hour to bring the fire under control.
The home was determined a ‘total loss’ and caused substantial damage, according to law enforcement.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported in the blaze.
