Trio to take on Geneva city manager duties

City Council is taking a team approach when it comes to temporarily filling the duties of city manager in wake of Matt Horn’s impending departure.

While Sage Gerling, the city’s director of neighborhood initiatives, is expected to be named interim city manager at a special City Council meeting on Wednesday evening, she will do so with plenty of help from City Clerk Doris Myers and Comptroller Adam Blowers.

Gerling, Myers and Blowers were among the people Horn suggested Council consider for the interim job, and the three apparently offered to perform city manager functions in a co-management arrangement. The resolution Council will vote on states they “will collaborate on decisions and duties to advance the community vision.”
