Geneva City Council opposes incinerator plan

Darrin Magee did a little image-doctoring to illustrate the implications of a proposed trash-burning plant in neighboring Seneca County at the former army depot.

Magee, an associate professor of environmental studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and an opponent of the project, created in his PowerPoint presentation to Council on Wednesday evening a photo depicting two empty Adirondack chairs flanking a fruit tray and a bottle of what we’ll presume is Finger Lakes wine on a pristine day overlooking Seneca Lake.

And then Magee presented a doctored image that turned the wine bottle neck into a smokestack, with a plume rising into the air.

That’s not the kind of image City Councilor Ken Camera wants to see come to reality. And neither does the rest of City Council.
