Driver charged with DWI, criminal mischief after crashing through Arcadia gazebo

Deputies in Wayne County say a 34-year-old woman was charged with driving while intoxicated, in addition to a number of other traffic violations after she crashed into a Lyons gazebo in September.

Deputies say they were called to Tellier and Stebbins roads for the report of a car off the road. The incident took place on September 2nd, and deputies discovered that the operator failed to stop at the stop sign on Tellier Road, causing her to cross, and crash through a gazebo on private property.

Officials say the operator, identified as Amanda Folsom, 34, was found to be intoxicated and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

A chemical test was conducted, and her blood-alcohol content was found to be .14 percent. She was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

The charges will be answered in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.
