Steuben duo charged with violating probation

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports two recent violation of probation arrests.

On November 26th, 2017, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brian E. Witherell, 36, of Bath as a result of a traffic stop on County Route 64 in the Town of Hornellsville.

Witherell was taken into custody due to an alleged violation of probation warrant out of the Town of Prattsburgh Court.

A search subsequent to Witherell’s arrest revealed he was in possession of a small amount of suspected marijuana and a glass smoking device.

He was arraigned in the Town of Prattsburgh Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail on no bail.



Witherell is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Prattsburgh Court on December 13th.

On December 1st Howard D. Pratt, 42, of Canisteo was taken into custody by deputies at the Steuben County Office Building, due to an alleged violation of probation warrant.

Pratt was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Furfure and remanded to the Steuben County Jail without bail.

He is scheduled to appear before the Honorable Judge Bradstreet on Monday.
