Prisoner at Wayne County Jail strikes corrections officer, gives him concussion

Officials say a Wayne County prisoner faces new charges after striking and injuring a corrections officer.

The incident took place Saturday morning, according to the Sheriff’s Office, who did not identify the injured officer. Deputies say 23-year-old Jonathan L. Tyson, of Lyons struck a corrections officer.

The officer suffered a concussion as result of the attack. Additional details of the incident were not clarified by local authorities.

Tyson was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and remanded back to the Wayne County Jail.
