For some good news… In less than 1 month, Santa Paws will be visiting BAS. It’s time to plan which of your favorite family members will be getting their picture taken with Santa on December 3, anytime between 11:00am and 2:00pm. CORRECTION… THE PICTURES WITH SANTA WILL BE THIS SUNDAY NOVEMBER 19 FROM 11:00AM TO 3:00PM.
CRICKET
An affectionate, petite, dark brown/black tiger with beautiful green eyes, Cricket arrived last Spring with her family members, tuxedo wearing Twinkle Toes and five-year-old grey tiger Millie, after their owner passed away. Like her family, she is a quiet purr machine who is waiting for a new lap. Nine-year-old Cricket is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped and tested negative for FIV and Fe-Leuk. Any one or all of these orphans would be happy to be your feline. They are all available for foster or adoption.
CRUNCH
An active Cocker Spaniel with curly, honey colored fur, Crunch was recently surrendered. He is a sweet and friendly boy who is approaching his twelfth birthday. Weighing 30 to 35 pounds, Crunch is eager to find a loving home. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Crunch is available for foster or adoption.
TILLIE
Estimated to be two years old, beautiful Calico Tiger, Tillie was found dragging her hind legs behind her. Cared for by the Shelter, Tillie slowly was able to walk again. She does appear to have some vision problems as well. The cause of her injury is unknown. In addition, they do not know if there is any permanent damage. But, a quiet, caring home would definitely aid in Tillie’s recovery. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped and tested negative for FIV and FeLeuk. Affectionate Tillie is available for adoption or foster.
LAST WEEK’S PETS – A correction to last week’s information on the prior week’s kitten, Mindy. She was not adopted. Now 4 to 5 months old and black with yellow eyes, Mindy is still waiting for her furever home. Last week’s black kitten, Dipsy is happy to announce her adoption. Adult feline ladies, Divia and Roxanne, remain waiting for adoption.
SHELTER NEWS
Thank you to Lowes of Waterloo and in particular, Erin, for the successful effort to save a very young kitten that appeared to be hitching a ride on a few of the cars in their parking lot. The Kitten, aptly named Erin, is doing well at the Shelter.
As a service to the community, the Beverly Animal Shelter has added a crematory for animal cremation, both individual and group. Call the Shelter at (315)539-9357 for more information.
Once again, the Beverly Animal Shelter will have a subsidized Spay & Neuter program for low-income pet owners. This is made possible by a generous Grant from the ASPCA. The Beverly Animal Shelter extends an appreciative “Thank You” to the ASPCA for their consideration.
The new Integrated Veterinary Service has begun at the Beverly Animal Shelter. Although held only once or twice a month, the long wait for spay or neutering has been greatly reduced! Call the Shelter to make your appointment. They are now taking reservations.
DUE TO THE DECREASE IN GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES, THE LOCAL RECYCLERS OF ELECTRONICS HAVE CLOSED DOWN. THEREFORE, THE BEVERLY ANIMAL SHELTER IS NO LONGER ACCEPTING ELECTRONICS FOR RECYCLING.

Why not take the opportunity to spend some playtime with your favorite canine. The Dave Pullen Memorial Dog Park at the Beverly Animal Shelter is open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm. It is located on the front center grounds at the Shelter and has a double-gated entrance. It is free to the public (though the Shelter always appreciates any donations!), but we do require you to stop by the shelter staff (at the store) to show proof of rabies and distemper vaccinations. We want everyone, including your dog safe! We also ask that you please clean up after your dog. Come on out and give your pup a chance to run off lead in a safe and enclosed environment!
THANK YOU FOR THE GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE PAST YEAR!!
The Shelter is no longer accepting scrap metal to recycle. However, they continue to accept returnable bottles and cans. For more information, call the Shelter at (315)539-9357. Be sure to wash out your returnables.
SHELTER NEEDS –
Seneca Falls has had a limit of only 3 dogs allowed for decades. The Town of Tyre has also joined Interlaken, Romulus, and the Town of Waterloo in setting limits on the number of dogs one individual can own. Now, for the rest of Seneca County…
Winter is here. Kitten Season (round two) keeps going! BAS needs your help! To help the Shelter out, please go to www.FirstGiving.com/bas.
Please keep in mind when you enter the Shelter grounds, to adhere to the 5mph speed limit. A very sweet but deaf cat that had lived at the shelter for 17 years was killed because someone sped through the drive.
Dallyn, along with the ASPCA, would like to remind all cat owners of the importance (after spay and neutering) of cat collars (safety or breakaway) with proper identification for outdoor cats. The Shelter is overwhelmed by “found” but unclaimed cats. The hope of the Shelter is to be able to reunite the lost felines with their owners. Many types of collars are available for cats. Please see Dallyn for more information.
Please, if you have lost your dog or cat, DO CALL the shelter. Do not wait for an advertisement of “found dog/cat” to appear in the newspaper.
Please be a responsible pet owner. Spay and neuter your pets to prevent more unwanted animals. ONLY YOU can prevent the overflow of kittens that begins each Spring and carries on into the Fall.
We invite you to come and meet our wonderful creatures in person. The Shelter is open from 10:00AM to 4:00PM daily EXCEPT SUNDAY and Wednesday. The store is open from 9:00 to 6:00 Monday to Friday and 9:00 to 4:00 Saturday. Questions, call (315)539-9357 or email [email protected].
