Police say the 39-year-old found dead outside a home in Auburn appeared to have suffered injuries consistent with an assault.
The 39-year-old, identified as Josh Taro, was discovered in the front lawn of a home located at 59 N. Fulton St.
According to police, a passerby discovered the body around 7:30 am, which resulted in the subsequent call to law enforcement.
Police discovered that Taro had been involved in a fight earlier that morning at Jitz’s Tavern, located on Franklin St.
Interviews and surveillance footage confirmed what witnesses had told police.
The cause of the death has not been officially determined. However, police say the injuries Taro sustained did not result in his death, according to the Onondaga County Medical Examiners Office.
Additional testing is being conducted, according to the APD.
