NYSEG reports that more than 1,400 customers are without power in Seneca County, as of 4:30 pm.
It’s unclear what caused the outage, but the numbers contains most to the northern end of the county.
The Town of Junius, which has 702 customers — has 600 reported outages. Similarly, the Town of Tyre has 318 outages — of 471 customers. Seneca Falls and Waterloo show outages, but most of these are contained to the northern portions of these communities.
It’s unclear if the outages are related to the winds, which have been steadily picking up throughout the day — and prompted a Wind Advisory for most of the Finger Lakes.
