A man was airlifted to a hospital Thursday afternoon after falling at Belle Sherman Elementary School.
First responders were called at 1:32 p.m. to the school, located at 501 Mitchell St., after a man reportedly fell, a Tompkins County 911 dispatcher said. According to emergency scanner traffic at the time, he may have fallen down several stairs.
The man was transported in a Bangs Ambulance to a grassy area directly behind the Rite Aid at 330 Pine Tree Road where a Guthrie Air helicopter was waiting. The man was loaded into the helicopter and flown to a hospital.
