Tuesday’s scheduled game between the Indians and the Yankees at Yankee Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather. The clubs will instead play a single-admission doubleheader on Wednesday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 p.m. ET.
Trevor Bauer had been lined up to start for the Indians against Jaime Garcia. They are now set to face off in the first game of Wednesday’s twin bill, with Ryan Merritt and Jordan Montgomery opposing each other in the nightcap.
“Some guys are probably going to have to play 18 innings,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. “The off-day [Tuesday] is nice, but from a physical standpoint, that takes its toll. It is what it is, and you’ve got to handle it.”
