Despite a rough start for the Bills in which they lost their starting quarterback to a concussion on the second offensive series, Buffalo took a four-point lead into halftime (7-3). But it wouldn’t stand up. With five minutes left in the third quarter, T.J. Yates was intercepted deep in Buffalo territory and it led to what proved to be the game-winning points in a 13-9 Baltimore victory.
Buffalo’s offense again had trouble putting positive plays together as their first six drives covered 23 plays for a total of just 14 net yards. The Ravens did come into the game with the best defense in the preseason, but with a rookie coming in at quarterback and the run game not getting much of a push it made things difficult.
Late in the game Buffalo was close to taking the lead, but Brandon Reilly was stripped of the ball at the Ravens 11-yard line after making a reception and Baltimore recovered to eliminate the threat.
