A Cato man made it out of his vehicle in time after it caught fire around 1:30 p.m. Friday in Sennett.
Bill Applebee said he smelled smoke in his Dodge Durango and pulled over at Dilaj’s Motor Inn in Sennett. Applebee had been driving back to work after meeting his wife in Auburn to look at a sonogram of their third child, he told The Citizen.
When he pulled over, he found flames coming from the engine compartment which eventually consumed the entire vehicle making it a total loss.
