On August 23rd deputies in Ontario County arrested a Canandaigua man following a welfare fraud investigation.
Deputies say David J. Spelman, 55, of Canandaigua was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after an investigation revealed that for more than a year — between July 2014 and September 2015 — he failed to report income from his employment.
As result he received $2,895 in benefits that he otherwise was not entitled to receive.
He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charges in Hopewell Town Court.
