Syracuse police: Weedsport man arrested for allegedly stealing car, fleeing scene

A Weedsport man was arrested by the Syracuse Police Department Wednesday for allegedly stealing a vehicle and fleeing.

Robert Stryker, 47, of 2757 East St., was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer.

Around 12:55 a.m. in the 2900 block of South Salina Street, a police officer tried to enact a traffic stop of a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado.

According to police, Stryker drove away when the officer turned on his emergency light.
