Waterloo woman sent to Strong after crash on Hecker Rd.

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce reports that a 19-year-old Waterloo woman was transported to Geneva General Hospital, then Strong Memorial for treatment of injuries sustained during a serious accident on Hecker Rd.

Deputies say that Mya Willower, 19, of Waterloo was operating a 2012 Hyundai Elantra on Hecker Rd., traveling east, when she lost control of the vehicle and exited the roadway — overturning and striking a utility pole.

Willower was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General — then transported to Strong Memorial Hospital due to the extent of her injuries.

Deputies say she suffered hand, neck and back injuries — but was eventually released.

The accident happened on June 13th around 12:00 pm.

The cause of the accident was found to be Willower passing in a no passing zone. She was ticketed for unreasonable speed and improper passing.

The charges will be answered in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.

Waterloo Police and Fire Departments both responded to the scene, in addition to the Sheriff’s Office.
