Locke man charged with abuse at agency for children

A Locke man has been arrested for abusing adolescents at a children’s agency in Tompkins County, according to the New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.

Special Prosecutor Patricia E. Gunning announced Thursday that three counselors at The William George Agency for Children’s Services in Freeville were charged in two separate incidents.

Alexander Stewart, 51, of Locke, was charged with five misdemeanors — endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, third-degree menacing, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and second-degree falsifying business records — and two counts of second-degree harassment, both violations.
