Voters in the City School District will consider a nearly $52.46 million budget in May that raises taxes a maximum of 1.23 percent.
The Board of Education adopted the spending plan at Monday’s regular meeting.
The tax levy of $18,878,664 is a 3.2 percent rise over the current budget. However, a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement with Seneca Foods has ended, resulting in an increase to the tax base and a 1.23 percent actual tax increase, district officials said.
The estimated tax rate for most in the district would be $21.37 per $1,000 of assessed value.
