Slight risk for thunderstorms on Tuesday; clouds and showers will prevail

Slightly cooler with a chance of showers throughout the day.

The forecast for Tuesday calls for a couple chances for rain throughout the day as a slow moving cold front pushes through the Finger Lakes.

It’s not going to be a washout by any means, and temperatures will still be hovering around 70 degrees by afternoon, but it will be a far cry from the 80+ degree temperatures we saw yesterday.

According to FLX Weather Meteorologist Drew Montreuil the first round of showers will push into the region later this morning, with a chance for some embedded thunder.

This afternoon a second shot of rain will move into the area, which will come between 1 and 3 pm. According to Montreuil there is a very, very minimal risk for gusty winds or small hail with the thunderstorms embedded in this line of showers.

The rainfall amounts will not be anything like what the region saw last week. Instead, the rainfall amounts will be more in line with typical late-spring, early-summer thunderstorms.
