Missing person’s report leads to police chase, multiple charges in Victor

On Sunday around 8:41 pm deputies in Ontario County arrested a 55-year-old Tonawanda man after he fled authorities, while being the subject of a missing person’s report in Tonawanda.

Deputies say James L. Daniel, 55, of Tonawanda was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer after an investigation set out to locate him in Tonawanda. He was believed to be in Victor, which resulted in deputies searching for him and his vehicle. Authorities located his vehicle at the Hampton Inn, and once identified — Daniel tried to escape.

The pursuit traveled through Victor, Farmington, and eventually ended in the Town of Canandaigua, according to deputies. His vehicle went off the road and came to a stop.

He was charged with unlawfully fleeing, and faces a number of traffic citations.

The charges will be answered in Victor Town Court at a later date.
