Court orders reinstatement of fired CMC nurses

Cayuga Medical Center was ordered to reinstate two registered nurses by United States District Judge Thomas McAvoy on Wednesday in U.S. District Court after he granted an injunction requested by the National Labor Relations Board.

The nurses – Anne Marshall and Loran Lamb – are to be given back their former jobs while the NLRB continues to hear their case on charges of unfair labor practices by the hospital. In a statement, the Cayuga Medical Center said it will be seeking a stay of the decision, as well as filing an appeal with the Circuit Court of Appeals.
