Will taxpayers foot bill for damaged “I Love NY” signs?

Go ahead and blink. Chances are you won't miss the "I Love NY" signs when you are driving down the thruway. However, an ongoing dispute between the feds and the state about those iconic signs is heating up again. This comes after eight of them were knocked down and damaged in the windstorm.

Assemblyman, Steve Hawley (R-Batavia) is now calling out Governor Cuomo, saying taxpayers should not be footing the bill to repair signs that should not have been put up to begin with. "These are illegal according to the federal government," Hawley told 13WHAM News. "How many man hours were used to put these back up? How many signs went down? What was the cost per hour for the crane?"
