Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould has expanded the Travel Advisory that had been issued earlier in the day.
Sheriff Gould says that his office has ordered roads to be closed until 6 am on Thursday.
The only exception to the closure is for emergency personnel; or those performing activities to save lives. Those who are traveling to- and from work that is a necessity for health and safety are also permitted to travel.
All others are banned from taking to the roads in Cayuga County due to high winds and blowing snow, which has caused limited- or no visibility throughout the area.
