Ovid man who crashed car was driving without license

A 42-year-old Ovid man is facing multiple charges after he was arrested following a car accident in the Town of Ovid.

Thomas E. Tyman, 42, of Ovid was involved in a property damage accident in Ovid where it was found that he had been driving with a revoked driver’s license from 2014.

Deputies say he was charged with failing to pay fines in Ovid, as well as aggravated unlicensed operator, unlicensed operator, and speed not reasonable.

He was arraigned in Ovid Town Court and committed to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 secured bond.

Deputies say Tyman was also arrested for third-degree unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He allegedly operated the Hyundai Accent, which was involved in the accident — without the permission of the owner.

Tyman’s next court appear is scheduled for March 21st at 10 am.
