
State Police say nothing appears to be suspicious about a 63-year-old who was discovered dead behind the Aldi grocery store in Farmington.
The deceased has been identified as Daniel Kanous, a Farmington resident. State Police are now waiting for a toxicology report to determine what factors could have been at play leading up to his death.
His body was discovered around 11 am near a retention pond behind the State Rt. 332 grocery store. The Monroe County Medical Examiner completed an autopsy and confirmed that nothing seemed suspicious about the death.

State Police are investigating a body that was found behind the Aldi store in Farmington.
According to police, the body was found around 11 am. Additional details around the circumstances have not been released, but police say it appears to be accidental.
They have not identified the male, and said that the male body is now being handled by the Monroe County Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.
State Police said that the death doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
Trooper Mark O’Donnell, who is a spokesperson for the agency said, “At this point we believe it is not suspicious, that it was accidental.” He continued, “Certainly, we don’t like to rule anything out.”
According to O’Donnell, the body likely was there for over 24 hours. They did note that it was probably there for less than a week, though.
They are waiting to identify the victim after family has been notified.
