Thousands of people are enjoying Central New York’s newest casino, but as many come to play at del Lago others have come to pray for family members and friends who have long passed on. On opening day of the del Lago Resort and Casino in Seneca County many made remarks about history that has been left behind.
The Las Vegas style casino built their parking lot around an old family cemetery. Neighbors said decedents didn’t want them disturbed during construction. “This is a generational cemetery,” Lynn Barbuto from Tyre said. In the middle of the parking lot, gravestones are peaking through the snow.
