Emily Laughlin and four of her children, all younger than 18, have lived in the neighborhood where the Geneva Foundry once operated for a long time. The Laughlins currently live at 12 Hogarth Ave. but have resided at four other addresses — all of which are within a few blocks of the former foundry site.
Laughlin said she suffers from anxiety, panic disorder, hypocarbia and asthma; is permanently disabled; and has had six miscarriages. One of her children has menstrual complications. Another has Tourette syndrome, anxiety, asthma and a severe learning disability. A third is autistic and has a skin disease. The fourth child has been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
