Deputies in Ontario County arrested a Rochester man after he allegedly violated a stay away order of protection following an incident on State Route 332 in Farmington.
Thomas J. Bell, 46, of Rochester was charged with first-degree criminal contempt – a Class E felony after he violated an order of protection, which was in place for a 36-year-old woman from Farmington. Deputies say Bell followed the victim in his vehicle while she was traveling on Route 332, which he did until she reached her residence. Bell then entered the property, and was arrested while trying to exit the property.
He was also charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief for damaging two tires on the victim’s vehicle by slashing them with a knife, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, five other counts after he was found to be in possession of two containers of pepper spray, as well as three knives, and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Deputies say that Bell had seven active suspensions on his license.
All of the charges will be answered in Farmington Town Court and he was remanded to the Ontario County Jail without bail.
