On the heels of a report showing an alarming increase in the number of youth and young adults using e-cigarettes, Ontario County’s public health director is speaking out.
“When e-cigarettes came out several years ago, they were marketed as a tool to help people quit smoking,” Mary Beer said. “Studies have shown in the long run, that is not happening.
“Kids think these products are risk free. They have nicotine in them, so they are not risk free.”
