Following a rebuke by Ontario County Judge William Kocher, a local man admitted sexually assaulting a woman earlier this year in Phelps. Jacob Beaton, 25, of Canandaigua, pleaded guilty Wednesday in county court to first-degree criminal sexual act (class B felony). He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 21 to 71⁄2 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision (parole).
