Lazzaro: No petitioners or signs at Tuesday’s Seneca Falls Town Board meeting

Seneca Falls Supervisor Greg Lazzaro announced on Friday that he would be prohibiting signs and petitioners at the August Town Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 2 at 7 pm.

He said that due to items in Seneca Falls that need attention the distraction of signs would not be conducive to getting that business done. The decision to prohibit signs and speakers at the next meeting comes a week after a raucous special meeting on July 22, where the board voted against going into executive session.

It’s unclear what items are on the agenda, but the Seneca Falls Town Board has been primarily hearing petitioners on issues related to the Seneca Meadows Landfill this year. Several meetings have had more than a dozen speakers each, and one meeting during the spring saw more than 60 speak against, or in favor of the Seneca Meadows operation.

FingerLakes1.com will have more on this story throughout the weekend, and will also have details on what items are on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.
