On Friday between the hours of 5:30 and 7:00, members of the Ithaca Police Department investigations unit, patrol division and SWAT, the New York State police CNET, the Tompkins county Sheriff Department, and New York state police CCERT, performed drug raids at two separate locations in tandem in the city of Ithaca. The first drug raid occurred at an apartment at 213 South Titus, the residence of Aaron M. Gaetano, 33 years of age and Christina E. Oxley, 38 years of age. Upon entry into the location, members of the Ithaca Police SWAT team secured the residence and members of the Ithaca Police, Special Investigative Unit located what appeared to be a methamphetamine lab. Two police investigators were exposed to noxious fumes from the lab and were transported to the Cayuga Medical Center where they were decontaminated and released after a period of observation. Bangs ambulance, IFD and NYSP CCERT responded and assisted with securing the scene. Over 4 ounces of Methamphetamine was recovered once the scene was deemed safe. A second drug raid was performed at an apartment at 117 West Buffalo Street. At the residence was a male subject identified as Juan J. Breton, 41 years of age. Located within the residence was an amount of crack cocaine, heroin, weighing scales, and packaging materials consistent with drug sales. It should be noted that neither location is believed to be affiliated with the other. The subjects are charged with the following: – Gaetano and Oxley are both charged with the manufacture of methamphetamines, a class D felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 2nd degree a class A2 felony. – Breton was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree a class B felony. All subjects were arranged before city court judge Wallace and reminded without bail pending further court appearances.Gaetano
