Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department participates in No-Shave November and No-Shave December

Sheriff Dave Gould announces that numerous members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department will once again be taking part in the No-Shave November and No-Shave December to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and a local non-for-profit charity.

This is the fourth year that members of our Sheriff’s Department will have participated for these great causes. This year, there are 60 members taking part. Each member has donated $25.00 for the “No Shave November” to be donated to the American Cancer Society and each member has also donated $25.00 for the “No-shave December” which will be donated to a local non-for-profit charity . This total will raise over $3,000 for these charities. Sheriff Gould has stated that any male who participates will be allowed to grow facial hair over the two months, as long as it is kept neat and trimmed.

Sheriff Gould stated he wanted the public to be aware of this fundraiser endeavor for two reasons. The first reason is the Sheriff wanted all our county citizens to know if they noticed our Sheriff’s Deputies had facial hair, it is for a very special cause and the second reason is he wanted to let the public know that our Deputies are supporting these great fundraisers to help our fellow citizens in need.

On behalf of all our great Sheriff’s members may all of you have a great Thanksgiving and a safe Holiday Season.
