The Watkins Glen Class of 2016 will present “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” – a show about family and a flying car, with a little mischief mixed in – March 18-20 at the Watkins Glen High School Auditorium on 12th Street in Watkins Glen.The family-friendly “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” will run Friday, March 18, 2016, and Saturday, March 19th at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, March 20th for a 2:30 pm matinee. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and students. Children under age 10 are free with a paying adult.In all, over 20 students from 7th to 12th grades have been rehearsing since January, immersing themselves in the early 1900’s with music, choreography, costumes, and tons of early 20th century references. The show is chock full of familiar songs fans will recognize from the movie, including, “Toot Sweets,” ”Doll on a Music Box,” “Teamwork,” “Hushabye Mountain,” “Roses of Success,” and “Me Ol’ Bamboo.”Michelle and Tim Benjamin of Montour Falls are directing (their 12th show for Watkins Glen High School), with Sarah Matthews as Music Director. Leads include Conlin Wysocki as inventor Caractacus Potts, with Maria and Scott Brubaker as his children, Jemima and Jeremy, and William Yeater as the batty Grandpa. The lovely Truly Scrumptious is played by Phebe Wickham.
