On Friday, February 19th in the Town of Seneca Falls a pair of town residents were arrested for welfare fraud. The arrests stemmed from an investigation into benefits being collected by Sara Smith, 27, of Seneca Falls and Christopher Lentola, 33, who had no permanent address.The pair was charged with criminal use of a benefits card and misuse of food stamps. During the investigation it was learned that Smith and Lentola were misusing public benefits provided by Seneca County Division of Human Services. The pair were released with appearance tickets and will appear in Seneca Falls Town Court on February 22nd to face the charges. The Seneca Falls Police Department was assisted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
