Numerous charges for Seneca Falls man after hitting tree

A local man was charged following a personal injury accident that occurred in the Town of Seneca Falls on Friday at around 5:30 pm. Town police responded to the corner of West Bayard Street and Toledo Street for a report of a vehicle that struck a tree head-on. The driver of the vehicle, Randy W. Redeye age 20 of 2552 Route 89 in Seneca Falls, stated he fell asleep at the wheel before it went off the road and struck a tree. A passenger in the vehicle Devin Bomberry, age 22 of same address, complained of pain in his chest and also suffered several lacerations to his hands. Bomberry was airlifted by Lifenet to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries and was later discharged.Investigation by police showed the vehicle registration Redeye was operating was suspended and that he had no license privileges to operate a motor vehicle in New York State. Redeye was also found to be in possession of marijuana at the scene and had an active warrant by the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department for Trespass. Upon completion of the investigation, Redeye was arrested and charged with Trespass, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration, Unlicensed Operator, Operating Without Insurance, Unsafe Tire, Driving on the Sidewalk, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Redeye was arraigned in Town Court before the Honorabale Judge Laquidari on all charges and committed to SCCF on $2000 Cash/$4000 Bond and has to reappear in court on April 2 at 5:00 pm. Seneca Falls Fire Department was on scene and assisted police with shutting down the road. The vehicle suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Eagle Auto.
