Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing Governmental Administration

Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Matthew A. Nobis, 28, of 4096 Wilson Road East, Taberg, New York, on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Assault in the Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. The charges stem from an incident where Nobis allegedly punched three people at a Town of Fayette business and was chasing a fourth person. Arriving Deputies located Nobis in the yard of the business and he verbally abusive towards Deputies and was threatening numerous people. Deputies placed Nobis in custody for Disorderly Conduct, but he continued to physically fight. Due to Nobis’ physically aggressive behavior, a Sheriff’s Deputy sustained an injury to his knee causing Nobbis to be charged with Assault in the second degree, a Class D Felony. After Nobis was placed in a Sheriff’s Patrol Vehicle, he continued to kick the windows and caused damage to the door. Nobis was arraigned in the Seneca Falls Town Court before Justice Laird and was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $10,000 cash bail/$20,000 secured bond. During the arraignment, Nobis was verbally abusive in the courtroom and was held in contempt of court. Due to the contempt of court charge, Nobis was sentenced to 30 days in the Seneca County Correctional Facility. Nobis is to reappear in the Seneca Falls Town Court on June 3rd, 2010, at 11:30am.Sheriff’s Deputies also arrested Kendall A. Dixson, 23, of 112 Pleasant Street, Canastota, New York, on a charge of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree. Dixson allegedly physically interfered with Sheriff’s Deputies as they were placing Nobis in custody. Dixson was arraigned in the Seneca Falls Town Court before Justice Laird and was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail/$2,000 secured bond. Dixson is to reappear in the Fayette Town Court on June 9th, 2010, at 6pm.The Sheriff’s Deputy was treated and released from Geneva General Hospital. The investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending.
